FC Utrecht once again defended home ground against one of the top teams in the league this season FC Twente.
FC Twente remained the better side during most of the game with unmarked Quincy Promes able to work the ball into the back of the net from a half volley pass.
Utrecht should have equalised just before half time but a scramble in the box ended up in the ball deflecting off the post after an effort by Mark van der Maarel.
A quick diagonal pass from midfield enabled Tommy Oar to race his way through the FC Twente defence to tuck away the draw-maker just seven seconds into the second half.
FC Twente had two chances to put their team into the lead but both efforts ended up no further than the arms of FC Utrecht keeper Ruiter.
This draw keeps FC Utrecht out of the pit of the league while FC Twente, who have been doing exceptionally well this season, slip down to second position in the league standings.
