FC Utrecht were unable to push on the offensive to secure a win after a 2-0 loss to NEC Nijmegen at the Goffert Stadium on Friday evening.
The first goal came from R. ten Voorde in the 16th minute followed by a second to find the back of the Utrecht net just before the end of the first half. That effort came from M. Platje.
Bukthuis was able to pick up two yellow cards within 10 minutes to be sent off in the 79th. FC Utrecht hold sixth position in the premier league standings just above NEC, both with 22 points.
