The Milan based Bassetti Foundation for Responsible Innovation is soon to place Jonny Hankins, their Foreign Scientific Correspondent in Utrecht. The move demonstrates and reflects the position that the Netherlands has in the world of innovation, and the particular position that the country holds in the promotion of the new field of Responsible Innovation.

Jonny Hankins has spent his last 3 year secondment living in Cambridge Massachusetts, home of MIT and Harvard University to name just 2 of the regions many world renowned institutions. The city is also home to many new start ups and a host of biotech and related companies, providing plenty of material for his particular type of journalism.

During his years in the USA Jonny has attended many conferences and participated in a host of gatherings of all types. He has interviewed Boston and Cambridge’s Congressman Michael Capuano, University Professors from all the main institutions, CEO’s of startups and multinationals and representatives of many other national and international organizations.

He is on the editorial Board of the Journal for Responsible Innovation, a member of the Virtual Institute for Responsible Innovation and the Integrated Network for Social Sustainability, author of the Handbook for Responsible Innovation and could be described as ‘a well known player’.

We at Utrecht Central are pleased to announce that Jonny will be writing regularly for the website, both news articles and blog posts about all things innovation related. Check out his first article about the European Union Innovation Conference. We are looking forward to many more from Mr Hankins and we hope you are too.
