The future of entertainment is here with the arrival of the first Virtual Reality pop-up cinema soon to open its doors in Utrecht. Pop-up is a term given to a business that is started in a more experimental form. A similar concept has already taken place in Amsterdam.
[gard align=”right”]A number of films and documentaries will be rotated which have been produced specifically for the virtual reality experience. Wearing this headset during a show could land you a place in the tour bus of pop band U2 and before you know it, you’re in the middle of a ghastly horror scene wondering how you ever got into the mess. That’s how real virtual reality can seem, tricking your mind into believing you’re actually there.
The initiator of the concept, Jip Samhoud, tells how virtual reality is a whole new way to experience film and how technology is going to revolutionise the way we experience entertainment.
The cinema will open to the general public from the 27th of November onwards and the location will be Asian restaurant LE:EN located at Heuveloord 140.
