Utrecht to stimulate investment in broadband infrastructures

Last updated by

The city of Utrecht in the Netherlands is looking to stimulate market players to work together in co-developing the newest forms of broadband infrastructure around the whole city.

The city council wants to offer suppliers ideal conditions to make it attractive for investors to invest in the city. Over the coming six months, the demand for broadband services will be assessed in each area of the city and the findings will be presented to a wide range of suppliers.

The aim of the research is to establish uniform, attractive conditions for key market players, where each can develop an offer to meet the specific local demand. The city expects the plans will profit residents and small businesses looking to take advantage of the latest forms of data traffic.
