More charging points to stimulate driving electric vehicles

Last updated by

Some 1,200 charging points are to be installed in three Dutch provinces including Utrecht to stimulate citizens to buy a hybrid or fully electric vehicle. The Utrecht municipality had allocated some €400,000 in stimulus in March to make the installments a reality.

Nieuwegein is one of the first districts to receive such charging points considering the demand is greater. Electrical vehicles emit far less CO2 and that means better air quality and a reduction in sound pollution as well. The installments are also in full alignment with the provincial goals to make Utrecht a climate-neutral province by 2040.
