With initiatives like the municipal Startup Inresidence, Local Economic Fund, Utrecht incubators Utrecht Inc and Venturebuilder Holland, startup companies are made to feel welcome in the city.

Along with such programs as Graduate Space which offers housing and community, there’s also Startup Utrecht, a partnership in the region that works to encourage the new businesses by connecting them with talent as well as corporate and funding bodies. As a city are these the types of business we want to see? Are they to the detriment of traditional business models?
