Last updated 2 years ago by Jon Wilkins

On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April 2019 the largest youth Olympic Wrestling Tournament in the world will take place in Utrecht.

De Halter Utrecht wrestling association will be organizing this annual event the “Easter Wrestling Tournament” for the 49th time in a row.

More than 700 participants from 6 to 20 years from over 24 countries will take part in the event.

This year the tournament takes place again at Sporthal Galgenwaard at Herculesplein 341.

The opening act of the tournament, with a sensational opening with all participants, is on Saturday 20 April at 10.00.

During the tournament there are bouts in different weight classes, by both boys and ladies.

In the 6-20 age group, the boys will fight in the Greco-Roman style.

The ladies wrestle in the age category 6-20 years in the Free style.

Almost all European, global and Olympic wrestling champions have participated in the Utrecht tournament in their past.

It can therefore rightfully be called the “tournament of champions.”

On the Saturday there is wrestling from 10 am to 6 pm and on Sunday fights will take place from 10 am to 3 pm.
