Olympic Qualifying Tournament softball comes to UVV

UVV will host the 2020 Olympic Qualifying Tournament for softball this summer.

The Softball association from Utrecht has been chosen by the WBSC world federation.

The club has been working hard, behind the scenes, in recent months to bring the event to the heart of the province of Utrecht.

According to the WBSC, UVV came up with the best proposal to host the tournament.

As well as the Dutch National Softball Team, two countries from Africa and five other European countries will participate.

These teams will probably be Italy, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Russia and Greece.

A total of eight countries will be competing for just one place in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The tournament will be played from Tuesday 16 July to Saturday 20 July.
