There was no league match this week for Jong FC Utrecht so the team of coach Robin Pronk had a prestigious practice match at Sportcomplex Zoudenbalch against China Under 21. The game ended in a 0-0 draw.
Jong FC Utrecht played the team currently coached by Guus Hiddink. The Chinese and also played a practice match in the Netherlands last week. against Vitesse, when they lost 5-1. Against Utrecht it was a very different outcome as it ended in a goalless draw.
China nearly went ahead in the 21st minute when Lin Liangming, currently under contract with Real Madrid, fired at the goal of Fabian de Keijzer. His shot hit the right post, then rebounded against the left post and ended up in the goal of Jong FC Utrecht. But then the whistle of referee Max Broekhuizen blew for offside!
The highlight of the game was the performance of Utrecht goalkeeper Fabian de Keijzer. He kept China from scoring, and how! Saving headers, shots from distance, and close in. He saved them all. De Keijzer kept everything out of his goal and played an excellent match.
