FC Utrecht pleased with Fox International deal

Last updated by

FC Utrecht general director, Wilco van Schaik, is pleased about the recent deal made with Fox International, the media corporation owned by media magnate Rupert Murdoch.

Fox International acquired a 51% stake in EMM, a Dutch company that manages the rights for the country’s top football league who also run the Eredivisie Live channel.

The partnership makes it possible to add the Dutch Premiership League to Fox International’s brand portfolio and provides them with explicit airing rights.

Wilco commented, “Millions won’t be flowing in immediately, so we intend to continue with further club restructuring.”

In the meanwhile, Dutch politics have turned the rights sell-off into a matter of controversy.
