Diede de Groot giving a smashing performance at Roland Garros

[gard align=”right”]Yesterday Diede de Groot, from Oudewater, Province of Utrecht won the semi-finale women’s singles for wheelchairs. She played the semi-finale against fellow countrywomen Aniek van Koot and managed to beat her in 3 sets, winning both first and third set with a 6 – 4 score.

De Groot will play the finale against Yui Kamiji from Japan today. Both De Groot and Kamiji reached the finale last year, when Kamiji was too strong for De Groot and beat her in 3 sets. De Groot is also coming out in the semi-finale of the women’s wheelchair doubles, partnering with Van Koot.
