Young boys commit robberies at Utrecht Centraal station

Last updated by

Three boys aged 14 and 15 who are accused of committing two street robberies at Utrecht Centraal have been arrested. In a strange twist the police are still looking for one of the victims, a white boy with dark hair who was riding on a bicycle. Station camera surveillance staff saw that the cycling boy was forced to stop at the Van Sijpesteijntunnel where one of the street robbers grabbed something from the victim’s bag, and then ran away.

The victim has not yet been found and he has not reported the theft to the police. He wore light pants, a dark coat, and a gray-coloured backpack. The police would like him to report, because that is important for the prosecution of the perpetrators.

The other theft happened around 2.30 a few metres away at the Daalsetunnel. The police are investigating whether the same three boys are responsible for this.

Police are asking for witnesses to the robberies. People with information can call 0900-8844.
