Last week, a mysterious red cyclist attracted the attention of residents and visitors in the center of Utrecht. The red cyclist is part of a campaign by the municipality of Utrecht to encourage Utrecht residents and visitors to start using the bicycle parking facilities.

Thousands of parking spaces available

With thousands of free spaces available in the parking lots, the municipality of Utrecht is trying to free up space on public streets. While providing an extra level of security, the idea is also aimed at upholding the 1.5 meter distancing rule to prevent the spread of the corona virus.

Use one of the storage locations and win a bicycle

Collect a stamp card from one of the bicycle parking facilities from the 17th of August and win a brand new bicycle. Get a stamp for every time you visit one of the locations. A full card can be handed in at one of the locations no later than Sunday 6 September to take part in the draw. The winner will be announced by the municipality on Monday the 7th of September.
