Utrecht stimulates driving more electric vehicles

Last updated 7 years ago by UtrechtCentral.com

The Utrecht Municipality is making some 400,000 Euro in funding available to stimulate people to switch over to electric vehicles.

[GARD align=”right”]Most of the money will go towards the construction of charging points for electric vehicles. Another part of the funds will also be used in the form of subsidies to make it possible to buy e-scooters for a discounted price.

Over the past two years, the number of e-scooters has risen thanks to subsidies. There are about 75 e-scooters used in the city of Utrecht on a daily basis; most of them being utilized for delivery services.

The municipality support the new campaigns to the full extent. Electrical vehicles emit far less CO2 and that means better air quality and a reduction in sound pollution as well.
