Utrecht has the most employment opportunities

Utrecht has the most employment opportunities according to a new study in the ‘Atlas for Municipalities’ that was released on Wednesday. The Atlas compares municipalities of 50 major Dutch cities on more than 50 different factors.
Aspects that played a major role in determining employment included accessibility and level of education. Those who lived closer to bigger cities were most likely to land a job. Additionally, those with higher education levels were more likely to be employed in any given year.Rotterdam experiences a high rate of unemployment due to the significant amount of non-highly educated inhabitants. Their chances of attaining a job in the current job market would increase by moving to cities within the Randstad (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht) or Eindhoven.
The inhabitants of the township of Bellingwedde in the province of Groningen have the least chance of scoring a job. Not surprising considering a population of 8,908 and their rural location to the North-East of the country near the border with Germany.
