University of Utrecht welcomes Frans de Waal

Biologist Frans de Waal joins the University of Utrecht as a professor. Starting next week, he will be giving lectures and conducting research. The University appointed de Waal this position because of his “international quality and multifaceted vision and charisma”.
Frans de Waal is a world-renowned behavioral biologist. His work includes research on monkeys. For the past years he has been working in the United States.
De Waal has written many books including the recent “The bonobo and the ten commandments”. His books have been published in twenty languages.
In 2007, de Waal was listed in the 100 most influential people of the world by the American magazine Time.
