Protest against new Coffeeshop in Zuilen

Last updated by

Shop owners in the district of Zuilen have started a petition against a new coffeeshop to emerge at the Amsterdamsestraatweg. Some 2000 signatures have already been confirmed.

Residents and business owners feel that a coffeeshop does not belong in a neighbourhood like Zuilen worried that it will lead to nothing but trouble. Coffeeshops in the Netherlands allow the sale of cannabis for personal consumption by the public.

The petition will be handed over to the Utrecht municipality on Thursday evening.
