Hooligans meet in Utrecht

There were more disturbances in Utrecht this weekend when police and the mobile Unit were deployed on Saturday to prevent disturbances with hooligans from football clubs FC Utrecht and Feyenoord.

Dozens of supporters from Rotterdam congregated on Saturday afternoon at the Jutfaseweg in Utrecht.

Luckily Utrechts Mobile Unit were on hand and ready to attend the disorder. The police were present, and so defused the situation and it ended peacefully.

Twitter highlighted events as @Vakj3 @ontzettend reported: “The police heli hovered above Utrecht to support the units, unfortunately cannot be given more information at this moment.”

There has been a history of previous confrontations between the hooligans of Utrecht and Feyenoord. Last April, the supporters met and fought each other. Local residents described the brawl between supporters of FC Utrecht and Feyenoord as if a war had broken out. Stones were thrown as was street furniture and the mobile unit had to intervene again. In this case there was considerable damage, and serious injury.
