Plans have been unveiled for the construction of hundreds of homes on the former KPN site. There are plans for 750 to 800 starter and student residences on the site at the Burgemeester Fockema Andreaelaan in Utrecht and building will begin this week

Jebber and the SSH are jointly developing hundreds of houses for students and starter buyers. The site ‘De Kwekerij’, which is a reference to the past when this area had various market gardens, was purchased in 2008 by the SSH.

On Thursday, the first phase of construction; the residential tower Sequoia will begin. This tower will consist of 318 student studios. The old KPN tower has already been demolished and the new residential tower Sequoia will be completed by April 2020.

The student apartments will all be approximately 21 m2 in area and will have a small kitchenette and a private bathroom with shower and toilet. Each floor will have access to a shared kitchen
