Aleid Wolfsen, mayor of Utrecht and member of the Labour Party, has made himself unavailable for an extra term as mayor of Utrecht. His resignation means that the central Dutch township will be getting a new mayor as of 1 January, 2014.
“It has been a great privilege to have been the mayor of this wonderful city. Six years is a good time to have enjoyed such a fantastic position as a governor and I will definitely be staying here to live,” Wolfsen told.
