International interest for Utrecht Science Park

Last updated 6 years ago by UtrechtCentral.com

The Utrecht Science Park is one of the three location that could play host to the World Congress of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation ( IASP ) in 2016.

The Utrecht Science Park will be competing with two similar science parks based in Moscow and Istanbul. The final location will be decided in October during a presentation in Qatar.

[gard align=”right”]In the context of this nomination, the Utrecht Science Park will be organizing a seminar on May the 12th dubbed “Science Parks as breeding places for innovation.”

Floris de Gelder, Director at the Utrecht Science Park told, “More than 20,000 people are employed at the Utrecht Science Park. Along with another 400 comparable parks in the world, we work to obtain knowledge to solve cross border issues. That is why we are happy about our candidacy and the chance to become a part of this international opportunity. It is through sharing knowledge and working together that Utrecht may become one of the most competitive regions in Europe.”
