Stephen Hawking arrives in Utrecht

The globally renowned British scientist Stephen Hawking arrived in Utrecht on Wednesday evening. Organizing members of the student union, A-Eskwadraat, welcomed Hawking and his entourage on Wednesday. The chances are now ever more likely that he will be proceeding with his lecture at the Beatrix Theater in Utrecht on Friday as initially planned.

The theoretical physicist, who has been confined to a wheelchair due to his illness, is known by many as one of the worlds most revolutionary scientists. His research on black holes is believed to be ground breaking on many levels and the fact that he has accomplished so much from a wheelchair is an amazing achievement of human will power and perseverance.

Hawking is expected to give a 45 minute lecture on Friday through a computer generated voice. Tickets for the event were sold out within a minute.
