There is some concern about two students aged 21 and 22 years who have gone missing in Panama for several days now. The two went for a hike on Tuesday, but have since vanished.

The two girls from Utrecht were in Panama to learn Spanish. According to Ingrid Lommers, the director of their school, they disappeared from a popular hiking path known as the Pianista Trail. The girls were spotted several times later that day by several witnesses.

The search has been ongoing now for several days but without any result. The Panamanian Security Minister Jose Raul Mulino told via Twitter that land and air searches were underway. According to Lommers, the Panamanian authorities are trying to trace the girls’ phone numbers in an effort to pinpoint their position.

About sixty rescuers are searching the park where they went hiking. There is also a reward of 2,500 euros promised for the golden tip that can help locate the girls.
