Utrecht welcomes Spar City to WTC

Spar Netherlands has announced that it will launch a new Spar City store in the World Trade Centre in Utrecht on 19 December 2018.

The new convenience store will offer takeaway products like sandwiches, smoothies, coffee, and a few other goodies.

Like other Spar City outlets, customers can get special deals on quick breakfast items, lunch, or evening meals.

The WTC is a dynamic centre on the Jaarbeursplein where different shopping experiences meet. It is a unique location for Spar to locate.

Spar City in the WTC is largely focused on passers-by and offers a range with many fresh and convenient products. Of course there are also many products for direct consumption such as sandwiches, smoothies or just coffee with some goodies available. As in every Spar City, there will also be special deals in this SPAR City for a quick breakfast, a healthy lunch or an easy evening meal. In short; everything for the daily message is available.

“Very proud that I can open a Spar City on one of the busiest squares and near one of the busiest stations in the Netherlands. Together with my team we will make it a success and offer convenience to our customers. Just like the development of the environment, I think it is important that the store continues to develop. By working together and working with Spar, I am sure that this will work.”

says Suresh Balak,

Spar is a supermarket formula, traditionally located in neighbourhoods, where convenience for daily shopping is paramount. Over time, Spar, with its formulas Spar City, Spar enjoy and Spar express, concentrated on different target group, such as passers-by and residents.

Spar sees space in the Netherlands for more than 100 SPAR City shops. The first branch opened in October 2010 at the Glashaven in Rotterdam. SPAR will continue to look for new locations for this formula in 2019.
