TaalThuis takes opportunity to offer online courses amidst pandemic

Last updated 6 months ago by Michael Darmanin

Staying inside doesn’t mean we have to stop learning. That’s why TaalThuis is continuing to offer their intensive, small-group learning courses online. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who want to improve their Dutch and get lessons from a well established language institute like TaalThuuis.

Fourteen years of teaching experience
TaalThuis was founded in 2006 as a language learning center catered towards expats, au pairs, and international students who want to improve their Dutch skills after moving to the Netherlands. With learning centers in seven different cities, including Utrecht, they combine e-learning and study materials with intensive, small-size classes with experienced teachers and tutors.

Strong in the face of adversity
In light of the “intelligent lockdown” measures put in place by the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare, and Sport, TaalThuis has still encouraged the spirit of learning and has fully transitioned to online courses to remain active in this time.

TaalThuis is now offering their self-study beginners course, an online learning course complete with grammar and vocabulary books, at a lower price; promoting the continued efforts of those who refuse to let the coronavirus pandemic affect their perseverance in learning Dutch.

Traditional lessons provided online till further notice
Apart from the total online courses, regular courses in Utrecht started this week also online and they will switch to face to face teaching as soon as the government allows it. The next online conversation course will begin on April 20th. You can sign up here!

Expats positive about online learning opportunity
In a time when it’s become too easy to be unproductive at home, this opportunity has been welcomed by the expat community as a chance to continue receiving high quality Dutch lessons from one of the most renowned language schools in the Netherlands.

Transitioning to online courses can be a struggle, and we’ve heard outcries all over the world from students having trouble with this new system. However, the organizers and teachers at TaalThuis couldn’t be more pleased with the public response to their newly implemented measures.

Representatives of TaalThuis are excited about this new teaching opportunity for expats in the Netherlands amidst the current situation.

At Utrecht Central, we are not only proud of teachers and students continuing their educational journey, but also those who are fighting the corona virus epidemic on the front lines.
