Sea, Snow and Skateboards come to Utrecht

Last updated by

Well not quite, but Utrecht can welcome a sports store with a difference, one that caters primarily for winter sports enthusiasts, as well as surfers and skaters.

This is yet another exciting business venture for Utrecht, which at the moment seems to be able to attract a great many blue-chip companies and retailers to the city.

And talking of blue-chip, the store is aptly named Blue Tomato and will be sited at the Voor Clarenburg.

Blue Tomato is a store that deals with X Sports or Extreme Sports which are hugely popular around the world. Will this encourage you Utrechters to take up more winter sports or to get down to the beach to surf?

It will be the first branch in the Netherlands for the company which is based in Austria and the sports store will have an area of around 450 square metres, over four floors, it will be a massive building and a huge enterprise.

Is this the kind of new store we need in Utrecht?

Are we getting away from the traditional shops and is that a good thing?

What brands or shops would you like to see opened in Utrecht and where?

If we now have an Extreme sports shop do we need places where the sports can be played?

Or will this mean more activities on the streets for these players?

Let us know what you think.
