New tariffs will become applicable for four P+R garages in Utrecht as of 1st September. The new P+R combination ticket offers more freedom of choice.
New rates apply
Travelers to the city center will pay 2 euros per day for parking. The traveler can then use their own public transport chip card or buy a separate ticket for 4 euros to get access to public transport. Currently, a ticket for parking and travel costs 5 euros. The new rates will apply to the P+R garages at the Utrecht Science Park, Westraven, Papendorp and Leidsche Rijn.
Grab an electric bicycle
In addition to the tram, bus and train, it is also possible to take the public transport bicycle or an electric bicycle. These new pricing developments are in line with the MaaS (Mobility as a Service) concept.
Mobility as a Service (MaaS)
MaaS describes a shift away from personally-owned modes of transportation and towards mobility provided as a service. This is enabled by combining transportation services from public and private transportation providers through a unified gateway that creates and manages the trip, which users can pay for with a single account.
Increasing accessibility and livability in the inner city
Using this new method, the P+R’s around the city will contribute to improving the accessibility and livability of the city. Visitors using a P+R to reach the inner city will result in less traffic and lower parking pressure in the center which in itself is an objective.
