Exciting construction news as Ballast Nedam break new ground!

The future is coming to Utrecht as Ballast Nedam develop plans to build an innovative ninety metre-high hotel tower.

The futuristically named Galaxy Tower, will be a massive 53,000 square metres.

The complex will be located at the Jaarbeursplein, opposite the Beatrix building and the Central Station adding to a series of new building ventures in the area. Each new building in Utrecht now seems an attempt to outdo the previous one, with more state of the art designs and cutting edge architecture being produced. It puts Utrecht at the front of construction design in the Netherlands and is producing a city that the Utrechters can be proud of.

There it is planned that the four star Amrâth Galaxy Jaarbeurs Hotel will be constructed. This will have 250 rooms, a restaurant, a bar and a fitness and wellness suite as well as a swimming pool.

In addition, there will be 317 apartments. Located under the tower will be 150 parking spaces.

Ballast Nedam has to overcome the problems of building this monolithic like structure on a building footprint that is quite congested and there is little room for the builders to work considering all that will be going up alongside, because of this they will only be able to use one tower crane which will be a problem for the builders to overcome, but if everything goes to plan, the hotel and the apartments will be up and ready to occupy by the end of 2020.
