Freelancers notice sharp turnover rises in first quarter

Freelancers in Utrecht have earned 12.4% more in this years quarter compared to the first quarter of 2012 according to information released from payroll agency, Tentoo. The data is based on statistics from Freelancers affiliated with Tentoo.

“Traditionally, the first quarters are known to be the worst for most freelancers and flexworkers. That doesn’t seem to be the case for 2013. On the contrary, we are noticing a rapid rise compared to last year. Especially with communications professionals and video editors has there been a positive development,” explained Paul den Ronden, financial director at Tentoo.

“Journalists, reporters and those in artistic roles like musicians have been less better off. We expect that all the hype around the transfer of the throne will provide a positive impulse in the second quarter,” he continued.
