HAL16 to close down on debt repayment issues

Last updated by

The judge decided that Hal16 must vacate their premises at the Archimedeslaan on debt payment issues. Hal16 owe an amount of Euro 83,476.80 to Stichting Tijdelijk Wonen (STW), the agency that provides the premises. Hal16 is a cultural hotspot in the daytime transforming into a dancehall by night.

The evacuation obligation does not apply with immediate effect; Hal16 has fourteen days to evacuate the property. The chances are slim they will be able to extend their deadline considering through higher appeal  due to their inability to cover their accumulating debts.

STW appealed to the high court to get Hal16 to vacate the property on two grounds. Their debt default, and the inconvenience caused by the club to local residents.

Schouten further told that there are no plans for the space should it becomes vacant again.
