DOMunder museum wins international prize

DOMunder, an underground museum beneath the Domtower in Utrecht, has won the prestigious Museum and Heritage award. The rather interactive museum came out first in the category ‘International.’ The jury was impressed by the way DOMunder makes archaeology interesting to a broader audience.

In DOMunder, the visitors experience the history and particularities of the Domsquare while walking through the tunnels underneath it. During the tour, the visitors watch a film and discover the underground tunnels with lanterns.

Since its opening in 2014, DOMunder has been tremendously popular, having sold out every single tour. So far 35.000 people have visited the museum.
