Coin commemorating ‘Van Persie dive’ sold out in a day

A coin released by the Royal Dutch Mint commemorating the first diving header goal by Robin van Persie against Spain has sold out within a day. The coin was issued after Holland reached the semi finals on Saturday beating Costa Rica in a penalty shootout.

A total of 6,000 copper-nickel coins will be produced to make up for all the orders at the price of €9.95 each. The coin also symbolizes Oranjes winning performances during their games so far according to the Mint. It will not be legal tender carrying no visible value and would be more suitable as a medal.

Collectors are enthusiastic about its release while other merchants will be looking to get a better resell price on eBay undoubtedly.
