Success is our responsibility
Evan Carmichael started a series of motivational videos on his YouTube Channel (called mentor me) to motivate people to achieve massive success. Oprah is one of his inspirational mentors.
“I am responsible for the choices I make.” These particular meaningful words came to Oprah Winfrey when she was a little girl. She had to do a recitation for church and found herself crossing paths with a few beautiful messages which provided purpose in this world.
She learned to recite “Invictus” by William Ernest Henly. It ends with: “It matters not how straight the gate, how charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.” She wrote these words down and took them as a life lesson. They have made her the magnificent woman she is today.
Growing up, she adopted another theory based on Newton’s third law of motion. It says: “for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” It means that everything you do comes back at you at a certain point, in a particular way. In orders words, your energy is so crucial as it affects not only yourself but also the people around you. We are responsible for the energy we put out into the world.
Find your calling
For what reason are you put on this earth? In Oprah’s words, you must know what you do not want to do first. Then you can start answering the question of who you are and which direction to follow. Listening to your instinct, knowing what you want and what you could do is mandatory. You will always meet people telling you that you will fail. Take them and make them fuel you.
