A week of “On This Day”

Not a lot happened in Utrecht or The Netherlands. October seems a pretty blank time!

On October 10 in 1817 Christophorus Henricus Diedericus Buys Ballot was born. He was a chemist and meteorologist.  Buys Ballot’s law and the Buys Ballot table are named after him.

It is actually stretching it a bit to claim him for Utrecht as he actually died in the city rather than being born here! But as I said, we are short of outstanding events this week.

And still no input from you the reader!

Where is your news?

Your birthdays, anniversaries, special events?

We can’t mention them if you don’t send them in.

Next week seems pretty empty again as well so…
